So we picked our slab yesterday. The granite place had just gotten a brand new shipment of Ubatuba (they were still moving it out to their yard when we go there) in and I must say…it was absolutely gorgeous. Some of the Ubatuba we’ve been seeing lately at various place has either been really splotchy, really green or with large gold crystals in it. But this bunch they just go itnwas amazing, especially in the sun. The gold is very subdued and it spiderwebs throughout the slab and the depth of stone looked incredible. It was everything and more that we could have hoped for.
They put a big red “SOLD” sticker on it with our info and we were off.

We also bought the knobs for our kitchen cabinets.  They are going to look awesome.

Here are the appliances that we picked out for our kitchen. We upgraded the refrigerator and the stove, the dishwasher and microhood were perfectly fine. We saved over $1200 by going with black-on-black instead of stainless steel, and to be honest I feel that SS is getting really played out and it can be a real pain to keep clean.

This past Saturday the wifey and I had a morning appointment with the Centex Selection Center so we could pick out all the options for our house.  We were there for a solid 4 hours choosing the location of media outlets, countertops, cabinets, tile, appliances and more.  It was a lot of fun, here are some pics of the hardware we’re getting.
